In
addition to NewSage Press's editorial department, we also
work independently with clients who are seeking book production
services.
NewSage Press has been editing, designing, and producing
quality books since 1985 and we do share our expertise with
organizations and individuals seeking professional book publishing
services. However, the books created by our production services
department are not distributed or marketed by NewSage Press.
(Authors looking for a publisher for their manuscript must
submit their work through NewSage Press's editorial department.
Refer to "Writers'
Guidelines."
Production services include working with clients who want
to have their manuscript edited, designed or printed--or all
three. These clients then distribute and market their books
through their own specialty channels or to their own organization.
If you are looking for any or all of these book services,
contact NewSage Press to discuss your book needs by email
at: info@newsagepress.com

Staff
at NewSage Press have been editing manuscripts for more than
twenty-five years. Maureen Michelson, the Senior editor, also works
with other copy editors, some of whom have been with NewSage
Press for ten years or more. If you need a general read with
basic editorial comments or if you need a line edit, both
of these services are available through NewSage Press. Maureen
Michelson does accept these editing projects on a limited
basis.

Experienced,
award-winning designers who work with NewSage Press excel
at finding simple, creative, and readable solutions to design
challenges with books. This includes book cover designs as
well as interior book design. All design work is done in Adobe InDesign and we provide camera-ready output or digital files,
depending on the printer's needs.

Today
"printing" might mean offset printing on a web press
or a traditional printing press, or laser printing or print-on-demand.
Digital output is the norm, and most printers have the production
capabilities to go straight to plates without the additional
costly step of film. Depending on the print run and the printer's
capabilities, this can vary.
With more than twenty-five years of experience with printers, NewSage
Press understands how to maximize the advantages each production
method offers, and when each is appropriate, or not. We also
understand paper considerations such as weight, recycled or
not, and the most economic use of paper for a book's signatures.
NewSage Press has strong, ongoing relationships with printers
and we can share our expertise with clients who may be new
to the various aspects of book production and publishing.
We can also fairly warn you about expensive offers from vanity
presses, and why this is not the answer to your book publishing
needs. We can also discuss the wisdom or the risks of self-publishing
in today's book world. In large part this will depend on you
as the writer, your book project, and access to distribution
channels and interested groups with whom to network. Sometimes
self-publishing is a good idea, and sometimes it is not!
